Introducing Statistical Analysis to Your Data
This introductory session will help contextualize the “why” of statistical analysis as a valuable tool in your toolkit. Together we will walk through examples of statistical models in Excel and R, focusing on data structure and actionable business decisions. Designed for participants with little to no programming experience, it focuses on the building blocks of technical knowledge.
Presenter: Catie Wram, Ph.D - Statistician at Iowa State University Foundation
Dr. Catie Wram is a Statistician for the Iowa State University Foundation. She recently joined the foundation in October of 2025 after spending the past 4 years as a scientist for the US Department of Agriculture. She has a PhD in Botany and Plant Pathology from Oregon State University and a Bachelor’s in Microbiology from Iowa State University. She hopes to leverage her expertise in scientific statistical analysis and creative problem solving to advance the ISUF mission.
